Why Post-Graduate Basketball Prep School?
As you know, these unprecedented times have presented numerous challenges around the world. Our post-graduate basketball prep school seeks to address some of the challenges graduating senior high school basketball players have been forced to face due to the global pandemic.
Many of this year’s graduating seniors have had an incomplete or non-existent senior season especially here in the province of Ontario. These student-athletes find themselves to be under recruited or not recruited at all by post-secondary institutions.
The NCAA’s transfer portal also presents a challenge. It is now loaded with eligible experienced D1 players making scholarship opportunities even more limited for incoming High School seniors.
Our post-graduate basketball prep school provides student-athletes several developmental opportunities during their gap year. Academically, students can improve test scores with standardized test prep, upgrade their overall academic standing, increase physical, mental, and emotional growth, and improve college placement and recruitment opportunities to name a few.
It has now become necessary for those aspiring to play collegiate basketball to consider enrollment in a post-graduate basketball prep school. Post-graduates enrolled in our Prep School will not jeopardize their NCAA eligibility.
Post-graduates will develop through our rigorous sport-specific training while benefitting from an extra season to increase physical ability as well as mental toughness, emotional intelligence, and maturity.

Uchenna Academy’s post-graduate basketball program based in Toronto, Ontario is centred around the holistic development of our post-graduate student-athletes.
Paired with our unwavering commitment to academic excellence through sport, we have created a fun, highly competitive, winning environment designed to nurture the development of global basketball players capable of success at the next level.
Our post-graduate basketball program works within the framework of Canada Basketball‘s Gold Medal Model, our principles for student-athlete development will allow student-athletes enrolled in our program to be prepared to compete at a national level.
Our post-graduate basketball program is open to identified high-performance student-athletes from around the world who have recently completed their grade 12 in 4 years.
Our Post-Graduate Basketball Program is comprised of these components:
- Athletic Performance and Health
- Social Emotional Development
- Mental Development
- Basketball Specific Skill Development
Through these four pillars, our mission is to provide an environment that offers professional instruction to high-performance post-graduate athletes. Post-graduates who display an undying passion for basketball and aim use their gap year to take their passion for the game of basketball to a competitive college, university or in some cases professional basketball organization.
This season we are offering ten (10) post-graduates the opportunity to learn, train and compete on this elite basketball team.

What is Unique about Uchenna Academy’s Post-Graduate Basketball Program
BOOST YOUR ACADEMIC STANDING: Improve your high school transcript and/or upgrade your SAT/ACT performance scores. Gain a competitive edge with available Advanced Placement (AP®) courses while receiving one to one instruction due to our maximum 10:1 student to teacher ratio.
HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING: Train and compete at the highest level in Canada and the United States. Receive instruction from a group of certified coaches featuring former collegiate players, athletic therapist and strength and conditioning experts who high level sport-specific instruction daily to refine and prepare you for the next level.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE AND DEVELOPMENT: Our focus is having every student-athlete realise their full potential. Therefore, a significant portion of our on-court time is dedicated to IPP practices.
Every student-athlete undergoes periodic athletic testing throughout the year, starting with a baseline test we track improvement in agility, speed, body measurements, strength, endurance, shooting, passing, finishing, etc.
BE NOTICED: Our Post Graduate team plays in the country’s premier prep leagues and against top tier US Prep Schools in elite showcases south of the border. This consistently competitive schedule creates multiple opportunities to be seen by coaches, scouts, and agents at any given moment.
Fees (for Canadian students only):
- Post-Graduate Basketball Prep School: $17,000*
- Please note: Scholarships are available based on scholastic and athletic merit. Limited Bursaries are available to those student-athletes that qualify.
- *Travel fees are not included in tuition fees.

To register your post-graduate athlete to be considered for our Post-Graduate Basketball Prep School in Toronto please filling in the form below, submit and pay the registration fee.
Upon receipt of your completed registration information and payment, we will contact you to confirm your post-graduate athlete’s in-person ID session date. Due to the on going pandemic, we have recently adjusted our tryout model to 1 in-person private or semi-private basketball specific training and evaluation session.
This in person private or semi-private basketball workout not only gives prospective student-athletes and opportunities to showcase their skill and athletic repertoire to our coaches in a individual or very small group setting but allows them to gaining a snapshot of what daily workouts will be like at Uchenna Academy.
The in-person ID session cost will be credited to your post-graduate athlete’s tuition upon acceptance.
Head Coach: Keir Bryan
Coach Keir is a passionate basketball coach driven to foster winning teams through elite skill and performance training. As a former student-athlete, Coach Keir has been able to use his knowledge of playing basketball at the collegiate level to lead teams under his guidance to the medal round of the Ontario Cup each year he has attended. His teams have earned a Gold or Silver Medal the last three years in a row. As a former scholarship athlete, Keir understands the level of commitment, sacrifice and determination required for today’s aspiring student-athlete to be successful in attaining their goals. Keir’s number one focus is to help the student-athletes in his care achieve their goals by ensuring they understand the right attitude, focus, effort and execution will lead them to success on and off the court.
