The Individual and the Economy

Course Calendar:

The course will be taught 2 days per week, with 1.25 hour lessons (Mon/Wed). Students will be provided access to an online platform where they will access course material, as well as submit all assigned work.

The course starts in January 2021 and will be completed in early June 2021.

Course description:

This course explores issues and challenges facing the Canadian economy as well as the implications of various responses to them. We will apply the concepts of economic thinking and the economic inquiry process, including economic models, to investigate the impact of economic issues and decisions at the individual, regional, and national level.

With our partners at University Health Network (UHN), students will learn about assistive devices in healthcare, and will complete a design challenge with the UHN research team.

The course includes the MLSE HuddleUp Bullying Prevention Program, which is a new online initiative for students to influence positive change in their community. We have also been selected as hosts of a virtual assembly with a professional athlete from the MLSE family!
